My kindest regards to everyone,

My name is Isabella Tristán, I’m a junior at Lincoln School, and I will be the outreach program director this year. The idea of the outreach program is to open the doors of this year’s LMUN to all kinds of schools. We want to help new schools  implement the program, give them a quick capacitation, and to simply ensure they have an amazing time in this year’s LMUN

Model United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN is an extracurricular activity in which students role-play delegates to the United Nations, therefore learning more about the UN and touching crucial and actual global issues. It is estimated that more than 400,000 students worldwide participate every year in MUN at all educational levels – from primary school to university. Many of today’s leaders in law, government, business, and the arts participated in MUN as students. Opening the gates of MUN to people coming from many different paths in life, allows delegates to enrich themselves with different points of views and to meet people that they generally wouldn’t know.

Model United Nations is an incredibly beneficial program for students since it:

  • Helps delegates improve in their:

    • Researching skills

    • Public speaking skills

    • Debating skills

    • Writing skills

    • Analytical skills

    • Critical thinking

    • Teamwork

    • Diplomatic abilities

    • Leadership abilities.

  • Looks great in your student and helps you get into a college or a job. You can leverage your MUN experience and network to get into college and find jobs. Admissions officers and job interviewers know the skills needed to participate in an MUN, so they heavily incline towards MUN alumni.curriculum

  • Develops a network of alumni from your MUN club and people you have met at conferences.

  • Meeting new, interesting people out of your social circle.
